abstract |
The present invention provides a method for purifying 227Th from a mixture comprising 227Th and 223Ra, the method comprising: i) preparing a first solution comprising a mixture of 227Th and 223Ra ions dissolved in a first aqueous mineral acid solution; ii) The first solution is supported on a strongly basic anion exchange resin; iii) dissolving 223Ra from the strongly basic anion exchange resin in an aqueous solution using a second inorganic acid; iv) rinsing the strong alkali using a first aqueous medium as appropriate Anion exchange resin; v) dissolving 227Th from the strongly basic anion exchange resin in an aqueous solution using a third mineral acid, thereby producing a second solution comprising 227Th. The invention further provides a method of purifying a 227Th solution, a corresponding pharmaceutical formulation, and treating a neoplastic disorder. |
