abstract |
A superabsorbent polymer (SAP) and a method of preparing the same are provided. This SAP has a gel strength index calculated as 0.5 or greater by the following equation (1): gel strength index = 0.7 psi AUP of SAP / CRC of base polymer (1) where "0.7 psi of SAP AUP(g/g)" indicates the absorption rate (AUP) of SAP under pressure, which is measured by the European Disposables and Nonwovens Association (EDANA) test method number WSP242.2.R3. And "CRC (g/g) of the base polymer" indicates the centrifugal retention capacity (CRC) of one of the base polymers to be surface crosslinked by the EDANA test method number WSP241.2.R3 measuring. |
