The present invention relates to novel catalysts for oxidative esterification by which, for example, (meth)acrolein can be converted to methyl (meth)acrylate. It is particularly noteworthy that the catalyst of the present invention has high mechanical and chemical stability even after a very long period of time. This is particularly the improvement of prior art catalysts which are relatively rapidly lost in activity and/or selectivity in continuous operation in even media having a low water content. |
