Human antibody to influenza virus hemagglutinin |
abstract |
The present invention provides a monoclonal antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof which binds to an influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same, and a method of using the same. The antibodies of the invention are useful for inhibiting or neutralizing influenza virus activity, thereby providing a method of treating or preventing influenza infection in a human. In some embodiments, the invention provides the use of one or more antibodies that bind to influenza HA for preventing viral attachment and/or entry into a host cell. The antibodies of the invention may be used prophylactically or therapeutically and may be used alone or in combination with one or more other antiviral agents or vaccines. |
