abstract The water-absorbent polymer composition of the present invention comprises antibacterial fine particles and a water-absorbent polymer having a hydrophobic antibacterial agent adhered to the surface of the inorganic fine particles, and the antibacterial fine particles are attached to the surface of the water-absorbing polymer. Preferably, one of the surfaces of the water-absorbing polymer is partially exposed. The hydrophobic antibacterial agent is preferably a substance represented by the following formula (I), benzalkonium bromide, triclosan or zinc pyrithione. The above inorganic fine particles are preferably dry cerium oxide.n□
