abstract | A shoe article can include a sole structure including an outer member and a plurality of grip members including a first grip member. The grip members extend substantially downward from the outer surface of a sole structure. The grip member or stud may be an auxetic structure that can increase its size in a direction orthogonal to the direction of the applied force or tension. The traction members can include a series of faces joined along the hinge portion that permit significant flattening and expansion of the traction members. The first traction member can have a substantially triangular star-shaped pyramid structure. The outer member may have a material that is more elastic than the material that forms the faces of the grip member. The outer member can have an inner surface that has one of the apertures of the grip members corresponding to the outer surface. |
