abstract The present invention relates to a method of inhibiting bone resorption. The method comprises administering to a human an amount of a sclerostin inhibitor that reduces the amount of bone resorption marker for at least 2 weeks. The invention also provides a method of monitoring anti-osteosinin therapy comprising measuring the amount of one or more bone resorption markers, administering an osteosclerin binding agent, and subsequently measuring the amount of the bone resorption markers. Also provided is a method of increasing bone mineral density; a method of improving the effects of osteoclast-related disorders; a method of treating bone-related disorders by maintaining bone density; and a treatment for hypocalcemia or hypercalcemia Or a human in the form of a human suffering from hypocalcemia or hypercalcemia, a human treated with parathyroid hormone or an analog thereof, or a bone related disorder in a human treated with bisphosphonate.
