abstract |
The present invention discloses a blood glucose meter having a low-cost user interface having a color glucose scale that is programmed according to a user's blood glucose target range by a separate computing device index due to a limited user interface. Indicators are formed. The colored glucose scale is static and placed adjacent to the indicator, such as by molding to the housing, printing on the housing, or attaching to a display. The low cost user interface has a monochrome segmented display with some segments acting as a plurality of indicators. The index scaled module uses the target blood glucose range of the diabetic patient to calculate the blood glucose range for each indicator to index the color glucose measurement scale. The indicator scaled module can also assign attributes such as blinking to the indicator. The graphical representation of the user's blood glucose measurements can assist the user in interpreting. |
