The present invention relates to a droplet actuator device and test method for testing metabolic disorders in multiplexed newborns. These methods include, inter alia, droplet-based enzyme assays and immunoassays for testing metabolic disorders. The invention includes multiple trials of different metabolic disorders on a single droplet actuator, and the use of samples from different individuals and/or multiple samples from the same individual on a single droplet actuator for the same metabolic disorder Method and apparatus for multiple trials.
