abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a polarizing plate which can produce a polarizing film without causing problems such as peeling between the resin substrate and the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer, and after the polarizing film is manufactured, the polarizing film and the resin substrate can be peeled off. The polarizing plate excellent in appearance can be obtained without being restricted by the peeling direction and the peeling angle. A method for producing a polarizing plate according to an embodiment of the present invention includes applying a coating liquid containing a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin and a surfactant to a resin substrate to prepare a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin substrate. a laminated body of a resin layer; a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer formed on the resin substrate is stretched and dyed to prepare a polarizing film; and an optical functional film is laminated on the polarizing film side of the laminated body to prepare an optical function a film laminate; and the resin substrate is peeled off from the optical functional film laminate. The surfactant content in the coating liquid is less than 1 part by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin.
