titleOfInvention Dissolved oxygen sensor
abstract Embodiments of a dissolved oxygen sensor are disclosed herein. Embodiments as disclosed herein can include an optically transparent material window disposed in one of the openings in a fluid flow path, wherein an illuminant is attached to a side of the fluid that the window is exposed to in the flow path. An optical probe can be disposed axially opposite the window from the fluid flow path at an angle to the window and fluid flow path. The optical probe includes an excitation source for illumination of the illuminator and a reference source. An optical receiving guide is configured to direct light from the illuminator to a photodiode adjacent the end of the optical receiving guide away from the illuminating light when the illuminant is illuminated by the excitation source. The optical probe is configured to determine an oxygen concentration measurement of the fluid in the flow path. The optical receiving guide and the photodiode can be aligned on the shaft, wherein the shaft can be substantially parallel to the axis on which the optical probe is aligned.
