abstract | Provided is an electrochromic display device and a device driving method thereof that can perform high-speed driving without causing destruction of an electrolyte layer and an electrode interface or a coloring and color erasing life. The electrochromic display device is electrically driven by a display panel in which a first electrode layer, a charge storage layer, an electrolyte layer, an electrochromic display layer, a second electrode layer, and a transparent substrate are sequentially laminated on a substrate. In the color-changing display device, when a predetermined voltage is applied between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer to cause electrochromic color development, the highest positive voltage is applied immediately after the application, and then the positive voltage is lowered.
