One aspect of the invention is directed to a waterless antiperspirant composition comprising i) AlCl3 or any hydrate thereof, ii) at least one of a calcium or magnesium salt of an organic acid, and iii) at least one water miscible solvent. Another aspect of the invention is directed to a method of preventing or reducing perspiration comprising applying to a skin an anhydrous antiperspirant composition comprising one of the above ingredients. Still another aspect of the present invention provides a method of making an anhydrous composition comprising: I) providing at least one water miscible solvent, II) selectively adding a thickening agent, III) adding an organic acid to calcium or magnesium At least one of the salts, IV) optionally adds an oil phase, V) adds a solution of AlCl3 or any of its hydrates to form the anhydrous antiperspirant composition. |
