abstract A multivalent immunogenic composition comprising 15 distinct polysaccharide-protein conjugates is described. Each conjugate contains a capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a carrier protein and prepared from different serotypes of S. pneumoniae (serotype 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9N, 9V, 14 , 18C, 19A, 19F and 23F). The multivalent immunological composition, formulated as a vaccine containing an aluminum-based adjuvant, increases the coverage of pneumococcal disease in infants and young adults.
