abstract The immunoflu's hemagglutinin-derived peptide conjugates described herein induce a specific therapeutic antibody response against influenza virus. The immunogenic peptide conjugate comprises a fragment of a fusion initiation region (FIR) domain of influenza hemagglutinin protein that binds to a carrier protein, such as keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), bovine Bovine serum albumin (BSA), influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein (i.e., full length HA) and analogs thereof. The immunopeptide combinations described herein are useful for treating or preventing influenza infection and for preparing influenza-specific therapeutic antibodies that interfere with influenza virus-host cell membrane fusion. The peptide combination can be formulated into a pharmaceutical composition suitable for the broad treatment or prevention of influenza infection.
