abstract |
The method for producing a floating glass according to the present invention comprises the steps of: melting a glass raw material; forming a glass ribbon by floating the glass melted by the above step on the molten metal; and slowly cooling the glass ribbon. The amount of fluorine in the depth from the upper surface of the glass ribbon to the thickness direction of 30 μm is greater than 0.23 mol%, because the fluid containing the molecule containing the fluorine atom is blown to the glass ribbon in the above forming step.
