abstract |
Provided is an electronic component that functions as a switch or a memory even without using metal nanoparticles. The electronic component includes: an electrode and another electrode (5A, 5B) arranged to have a nano gap; and a halogen ion (6) located between the electrode (5A) and the other electrode (5B) and disposed at At least one of the electrodes. When the voltage is continuously changed from a positive value to a negative value and a negative value to a positive value between the electrode (5A) and the other electrode (5B), it flows to the electrode (5A) and the other electrode (5B). The current waveform between them becomes asymmetrical. The state of the halogen ion (6) is changed in accordance with the value of the voltage applied between the electrode (5A) and the other electrode (5B), and corresponds to flow between the electrode (5A) and the other electrode (5B). The value of the current maintains the state of writing the information and the erasing state of the information. |
