| abstract |
The present invention discloses a system for growing an ingot from a melt comprising a first crucible, a second crucible, and a crucible. The first crucible has a first substrate and a first sidewall forming a first cavity, and the first substrate has a top surface. The second crucible is disposed in the first cavity of the first crucible and has a second substrate and a second sidewall forming a second cavity. The second substrate has a bottom surface that is shaped to allow the second substrate to rest on the top surface of the first substrate. The second weir includes a passage to allow the melt to move therefrom. The weir is disposed inwardly from the second side wall to inhibit movement of the melt from a position outward from the weir to a position inward from the weir. |
