abstract | The present invention relates to a nematic liquid crystal composition which can be used as a dielectric display (Δε) showing a negative value of a liquid crystal display material, and a liquid crystal display element using the same. The liquid crystal composition of the present invention has a liquid crystal phase with a wide temperature range, has low viscosity, good solubility at low temperature, high specific resistance or voltage retention, and is stable to heat or light, so that the display can be provided in good yield by using it. It is excellent in quality, and it is difficult to produce a liquid crystal display element such as a VA type or a PSVA type which has poor display such as afterimage or dripping marks. The liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful for achieving high-speed response and suppressing display defects at the same time, and is particularly useful for a liquid crystal display element for active matrix driving, and can be applied to liquid crystal display elements such as a VA mode or a PSVA mode. |
