abstract The coating device of the present invention is used to apply a varnish containing particles and a resin. The coating device includes a manifold for expanding the varnish in a first direction orthogonal to the discharge direction, and a discharge portion for discharging the varnish expanded in the first direction by the manifold. An enlarged portion in which the length in the first direction gradually increases toward the downstream side in the discharge direction is provided in the manifold. A discharge suppressing portion for relatively suppressing varnish discharge in the first direction end portion of the discharge portion is provided in the discharge portion.
