The present invention discloses a process for separating water from a liquid phase medium comprising an aliphatic carboxylic acid in the presence of an ancillary agent by azeotropic distillation. The entrainer, water, and organics are then separated, wherein the entrainer is recycled back to the azeotropic distillation column and the organics are recycled back to the oxidation reactor. |
