abstract |
The present invention relates to a nematic liquid crystal composition which is useful as a liquid crystal display material and whose dielectric anisotropy (??) is negative, and a liquid crystal display element using the same. The liquid crystal composition of the present application does not lower the refractive index anisotropy (Δn) and the nematic phase-isotropic liquid phase transition temperature (Tni), and the viscosity (η) is sufficiently small, and the rotational viscosity (γ 1) is sufficient. Small, the elastic constant (K33) is large, and has a large absolute negative dielectric anisotropy (Δε), and can provide an excellent display quality in which no display defect or display failure is suppressed by using the VA type or the like. And the liquid crystal display element has a faster response speed. The liquid crystal display element using the liquid crystal composition of the present invention is useful for an active matrix driving liquid crystal display element, and can be applied to a liquid crystal display element such as a VA type or a PSVA type. |
