abstract |
A polymer composition on a substrate and a surface modification method that is non-selective to the substrate material. A parylene film having a maleimide group is polymerized by chemical vapor deposition on a substrate. Thereby, the substrate can be surface-modified by performing a coupling reaction of a thiol group-maleimine group in a mild environment. Moreover, through the appropriate terminal thiol-based molecules, the desired surface can be designed by the thiol-maleimine-based coupling reaction on the substrate, and the resulting surface can exhibit different biotechnological applications. A variety of desired biological functions. Thus, this modification technique can be widely applied to the biological field. |
