The present invention provides a liquid crystal composition containing positive dielectric anisotropy, and the liquid crystal composition contains two or more selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by the formulae (LC0-1) to (LC0-3). The compound contains one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by the formulae (LC1) to (LC5). The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which has a large Δ ε and a low viscosity, can be driven at a high speed under low voltage driving, and is practical and highly reliable, and is useful for an active matrix driving liquid crystal display device. The present invention can be applied to liquid crystal display elements of the IPS type or the like. |
