The present invention provides a continuous production method which is a method for continuously producing a high molecular weight polycarbonate resin by subjecting an aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer and an aliphatic diol compound to a high molecular weight reaction, even if the boiling point is relatively low. The aliphatic diol compound can also be efficiently utilized in connection with a high molecular weight reaction, and is economically advantageous for producing an improved continuous manufacturing method of a high quality high molecular weight polycarbonate resin.
