abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a phthalate phosphor particle having a coating film which does not lower the fluorescence intensity and has high moisture resistance and water resistance. After forming a base layer of the partially hydrolyzed aluminum organometallic compound on the surface of the phthalate phosphor particles, a first coating liquid obtained by concentrating a hydrolysis condensate of a decane organometallic compound is formed on the base layer to form a coating film. The first coating film is formed by heat treatment at 110 ° C to 350 ° C in an atmospheric environment. Further, dimethyl siloxane having a Si-OH group at the end is further coated on the first coating film, and heat treatment is performed at 250 ° C to 300 ° C in an air atmosphere to form a second coating film.
