The invention relates to a process for producing isodecanoic acid carboxylate from 2-ethylhexanol, which is dehydrated from 2-ethylhexanol to octene, and then hydroformylated to isodecyl aldehyde and then oxidized to isodecanoic acid. The isophthalic acid thus produced is esterified with an alcohol, and is a carboxylic acid ester of isodecanoic acid prepared from 2-ethylhexanol, and used as a lubricant or plasticizer of a thermoplastic polymer. |
