The present invention provides a polymerizable compound having appropriate polymerization reactivity, high conversion, and high solubility to a liquid crystal composition. The present invention also provides a high-limit temperature having a nematic phase, a low-limit temperature of a nematic phase, a small viscosity, an appropriate optical anisotropy, a large dielectric anisotropy, a suitable elastic constant, and a large specific resistance. And a liquid crystal composition of a physical property such as a proper pretilt angle. The present invention provides a compound represented by the formula (1). □ For example, ring A1, ring A2, ring A3 and ring A4 are 1,4-phenylene, Z1 and Z2 are at least one -CH2-carbon number which can be substituted by -O- or -CH=CH- to 10 alkyl; L1, L2 and L3 are single bonds, -COO-, or -CH=CH-; G1 and G2 are single bonds or -O-; s, t, and u are 0 or 1; P1 and P2 is a group (P-1), a group (P-2), or a group (P-3). □M1 and M2 are hydrogen or methyl. |
