titleOfInvention | Polyvinyl alcohol and its manufacturing method |
abstract | A polyvinyl alcohol and a method for producing the same, comprising the steps of: copolymerizing a monomer having a vinyl ester unit, a saturated aldehyde with an aldehyde or a ketone selected from an unsaturated group to form a vinyl ester copolymer, and then alkalizing the vinyl ester Copolymer. The polyvinyl alcohol thus obtained has a maximum absorption wavelength in the ultraviolet spectrum of from 273 to 283 nm, and an absorption value of the polyvinyl alcohol in a 0.4% by weight aqueous solution of 2.0 or more is suitable for suspension polymerization. |
