abstract |
The present invention relates to a fluorinated compound comprising: (i) a fluoride oligomeric moiety comprising a polymeric (meth) acrylate monomer unit and each of said units having a perfluorinated terminal C4-C6 aliphatic group An aliphatic backbone of the group and an organic residue obtained by removing a hydrogen atom from the functional chain transfer agent, wherein: the polymeric (meth) acrylate unit is at least relative to the functionalized chain transfer agent a molar ratio of 6:1 is present; and the (meth) acrylate units comprise 0-30 mole % acrylate units and 70-100 mole % methacrylate units; (ii) a fluorocarbon free portion; (iii) a di-, tri- or polymeric isocyanate-derived linking group; and (iv) a group imparting durability when the compound is applied to a fibrous substrate. |
