abstract | A hydroxy ester resin composition, such as a vinyl ester resin, comprising (a) a divinylarene dioxide resin and (b) at least one ring opening reactant, such as at least one monocarboxylic acid, such as (meth)acrylic acid a reaction product in the presence of (c) at least one non-gel catalyst, such as a Lewis acid catalyst; a method of producing the hydroxy ester resin composition; a curable hydroxy ester resin composition, such as composed of the hydroxy ester resin a curable resin composition made of the material; a method of curing the curable hydroxy ester resin composition; and a cured product made of the curable hydroxy ester resin composition. The cured product made of the above hydroxy ester resin composition is thermally stable and provides improved properties such as lower viscosity and high heat resistance as compared with known cured products prepared from known epoxy resins. |
