The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device using a color filter using a specific liquid crystal composition and a specific dye and/or pigment. The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which prevents a decrease in voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer, an increase in ion density (ID), and a problem of poor display such as whitening, misalignment, and burn-in. The liquid crystal display device of the present invention is characterized in that the voltage holding ratio (VHR) of the liquid crystal layer is lowered, the ion density (ID) is increased, and display defects such as imprinting are suppressed, particularly in the VA mode for active matrix driving, and the PSVA mode liquid crystal display. The device is useful and can be applied to liquid crystal display devices such as liquid crystal televisions, monitors, mobile phones, and smart phones. |
