titleOfInvention | Apparatus and method for reducing carbon dioxide |
abstract | The present invention provides a twin photoreactor device for photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide into a hydrocarbon, comprising: an oxygen generating catalyst reactor, containing an aqueous solution containing an oxygen generating catalyst and a first electron transporting medium, by Photocatalytic decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen ions; a hydrogen-producing reactor containing an aqueous solution containing a hydrogen-producing catalyst, a second electron-transporting medium, a hydrogenation catalyst for carbon dioxide, and carbon dioxide to reduce hydrogen ions by photocatalysis The two reactors are separated by a membrane, and the hydrogen-generating catalyst reactor decomposes the hydrogen ions generated by the water, diffuses through the membrane to the hydrogen-producing catalyst reactor, converts the carbon dioxide into hydrocarbons; and the first electron-transfer medium is produced. The electrons generated by the oxygen catalyst are transmitted through the film to neutralize the holes of the hydrogen-producing catalyst, and then converted into a second electron-transporting medium, and diffused through the film back to the oxygen-generating catalyst reactor. |
