abstract |
It is an object of the present invention to provide a polarizing element and a polarizing plate which have high polarizing performance for a light source having the highest luminous intensity at 450 nm to 480 nm. The polarizing element of the present invention is characterized in that a film of a polyvinyl alcohol resin or a derivative thereof containing a dichroic dye is stretched, and at least one of the dichroic dyes is represented by the formula (1) In the dichroic dye, the adsorption ratio of n=2 to the total adsorption amount of n=1 to n=4 is 55% or more. □ |
