abstract | The present invention provides a pretreatment method for detecting RNA quickly and easily. That is, for example, iron ions and carbonate ions are added to a biological sample containing a human nasal mucosa, thereby suppressing the RNA decomposing activity of lactoferrin present in the human nasal mucosa. If a pretreated biological sample is used, the reverse transcriptase can be used to amplify the gene of the RNA virus. Iron ions and carbonate ions can also inhibit the reverse transcriptase inhibitory activity of lysozyme C in human nasal mucosa. Further, it is preferred to add SDS to a biological sample containing a human nasal mucosa, thereby removing the outer membrane of the RNA virus. |
