abstract Described herein are compositions and methods for producing a patient-specific, proliferative, and substantially pure cardiomyocyte strain from a multi-functional stem cell (iPSC). The patient-specific cardiomyocyte cell line of the present invention is suitable for research, drug screening, and autologous cell-based therapy. The method of the invention is simple and reproducible and produces cardiomyocytes with high purity and proliferative capacity.
