titleOfInvention | Biomatrix diol-derived thermoplastic polyurethane having a tendency to reduce fogging |
abstract | The present invention discloses a thermoplastic polyurethane comprising the following reaction products: (1) a hydroxyl terminated polyester intermediate, (2) a polyisocyanate, and (3) a glycol chain extender; wherein the polyester intermediate The system comprises a repeating unit derived from a 1,3-propanediol component and a dicarboxylic acid, wherein the 1,3-propanediol component comprises a biological substrate 1,3-propanediol; wherein the polyester intermediate has an average number of 500 to 10,000 a molecular weight; and wherein the polyurethane comprises a hard segment formed by reacting the polyisocyanate with a glycol chain extender. The uniqueness of this thermoplastic polyurethane is that it has a tendency to greatly reduce fogging and is prepared from recycled materials. The fogging effect causes the appearance of the article containing the polyurethane to be faint or foggy, and also reduces the ability of the article to be bonded to each other by the adhesive. |
