The present invention relates to a method for producing a floating glass, which comprises the steps of cooling a molten glass on a molten tin in a float bath and cooling it in a specific direction to form a strip shape. The environment on the molten glass is a reducing environment containing hydrogen, and the additive substance containing sulfur or chlorine is contained in the environment, and the concentration of the additive in the environment is 1 mg/at at least a part of the molten glass.
