abstract The present invention provides an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) system configured to receive first and second analog magnitudes and to provide a plurality of numerical parameters representative of the first and second analog magnitudes. The ADC system includes first, second, and third ADC circuits, and a digital interface circuit. The first ADC circuit is configured to provide a first code representative of the first analog magnitude and to provide a first analog residual magnitude value indicative of the first analog magnitude relative to the first code. The second ADC circuit is configured to provide a second code representative of the second analog magnitude and to provide a second analog residual magnitude value representative of the second analog magnitude relative to the second code. The third ADC circuit is configured to receive the first and second analog residual quantized values and provide a third digital code representing a difference between the first and second analog residual quantized values. The digital interface circuit is configured to receive the first, second, and third codes and provide a plurality of numerical parameters indicative of the first and second analog magnitudes.
