abstract | This application relates to a detection reagent and a detection method for porcine reproductive and respiratory viruses. In one aspect, the invention provides an immunogenic fragment encoding a non-structural protein 2 (Nsp2). In particular, the immunogenic fragments provided herein are not found in the Nsp2 protein of attenuated PRRSV but are present in the Nsp2 protein of wild-type PRRSV. The invention also provides oligonucleotide primers suitable for distinguishing between attenuated PRRSV and wild type PRRSV. The application further provides a PRRSV detection method and detection reagent, and a method for distinguishing pigs immunized with attenuated PRRSV from pigs infected with wild-type PRRSV. |
