abstract | To provide an epoxy-curing agent that contains colloidal silica particles, which is suitable as a curing agent for a resin composition for sealing optical semiconductor elements and which is a low-viscosity liquid, exhibits excellent transparency, and can impart flexibility and high bending strength to a cured body of an epoxy resin without impairing the other physical properties of the cured body. A process for preparing a silica-containing, epoxy-curing agent, characterized by mixing together colloidal silica particles having a mean primary particle diameter of 5 to 40nm, a dicarboxylic anhydride which is liquid at 30 DEG C, and a polyol which is liquid at 30 DEG C, and thereafter heating the resulting mixture at 50 to 130 DEG C. |
