titleOfInvention Organic electroluminescence device
abstract The invention relates to an organic electroluminescence device on which an electrode extraction portion is formed. The organic EL device 1 includes: a first substrate 2 having a cathode layer 21 and a smoothing layer 22; an organic layer 3 formed on the cathode layer 21; an anode layer 4 formed on the organic layer 3; and a second substrate 6 joined to the anode layer 4 across an adhesive layer 5. The organic layer 3 is not formed in any region of the circumferential region of the first substrate 2, and in a portion of the aforementioned region the anode layer 4 is extendedly disposed toward an outer circumferential side across an insulation layer 7. Besides, an anode extraction portion 40a is formed by folding the extendedly disposed anode layer 4 toward an opposite side to the second substrate 6, and a cathode extraction portion 40b is formed by folding a portion of the cathode layer 21 of the first substrate 2. According to this configuration, because each of the extraction portions (40a, 40b) can be formed by folding the insulation layer 7 and the extendedly disposed auxiliary electrode portion 42 or folding a portion of the first substrate 2 (namely using a simple procedure), the device can be efficiently manufactured.
