The purpose of the present invention is to provide a shaped silica body which is less susceptible to the dealumination of zeolite even under an atmosphere of high-temperature steam and which rarely corrodes a stainless steel conventionally used in industrial equipment, a process for producing the same, and a method for manufacturing propylene using the shaped silica body. This process for producing a shaped silica body comprises a step of preparing a raw material mixture that comprises both silica and a zeolite, a step of drying the raw material mixture to obtain a dry body, and a step of firing the dry body, and further includes a step wherein the content of phosphorus element in the shaped silica body is adjusted to 0.01 to 1.0% by mass relative to the total mass of the shaped silica body by incorporating phosphoric acid and/or a phosphate salt into the raw material mixture, or by bringing the zeolite and/or the dry body into contact with phosphoric acid and/or a solution of a phosphate salt, or by combining both. |
