titleOfInvention Extract from Semen Cassiae for lowering intraocular pressure
abstract Extract from Semen Cassiae for lowering intraocular pressure is provided. In experiments it is found that extract from Semen Cassiae can improve the antioxidant ability and lower the intraocular pressure of the aqueous humor inside the eyes of a mouse with glaucoma (DBA/2J) and other beneficial effects to the eyes when the mouse is treated with the extract. It is further found that liver and kidneys of the mouse have no pathologic changes. lt is therefore concluded that extract from Semen Cassiae can lower intraocular pressure and have safe medical effects to a patient with glaucoma.
