abstract |
This invention provides a catalyst for the manufacture of a poly(substituted thiophene), of which the manufacturing process is easy and the use of a low-cost material is possible, without the need of a control of the reaction temperature in a low temperature region. The catalyst enables the production of a poly(substituted thiophene) at an yield equivalent to that of conventional production processes, and the poly(substituted thiophene) exhibits excellent three dimensional regularity and molecular weight distribution over that made by conventional processes. The catalyst comprises: (1) a base obtained by reacting a primary amine or secondary amine, a Grignard reagent and a halogenized alkali metal complex, (2) a nickel catalyst, and/or (3) a palladium catalyst. |
