abstract A method for in vitro estimating whether a subject having a cancer, including: obtaining a first biosample from a subject at a first time point; administering a vitamin B compound to the subject; after administering the vitamin B compound to the subject, obtaining a second biosample from the subject at a second time point; determining a ratio of sarcosine concentration to creatinine concentration in the first biosample as a first ratio; determining a ratio of sarcosine concentration to creatinine concentration in the second biosample as a second ratio; and calculating a ratio of the first ratio to the second ratio as a third ratio, wherein if the third ratio equal to or greater than a threshold value, it indicates that the subject has a risk of having a cancer.
