abstract | A purpose of the present invention is to provide a metal foil coated with a filled resin layer, as an insulating-layer-coated metal foil which is equipped with a thin insulating layer having a smooth surface. Another purpose is to provide a process for producing such metal foil coated with a filled resin layer, the process enabling the coated metal foil to be produced with good reproducibility so as to have a large area. In order to accomplish the purposes, a filled resin layer which had a thickness of 0.1-3.0 μm, a surface glossiness higher than 200, and a surface roughness (Ra), as determined with an atomic force microscope with respect to an examination range of 5 μm 5 μm, of less than 25 nm was superposed on the smooth surface of a metal foil which had a smooth surface having a glossiness higher than 400 and a surface roughness (Ra), as determined with an atomic force microscope with respect to an examination range of 5 μm 5 μm, of 10 nm or less. |
