abstract A digital watermark padding method comprises the step of acquiring each frame image of moving image data and a frame display time sequentially, the step of creating a watermark pattern by using watermark information, a frame display time and pattern switching information, and the step of creating watermarked moving image data by superposing the watermark pattern on the frame image and by combining the watermarked frame image groups obtained by repeating the aforementioned operations sequentially. A digital watermark detecting method comprises the step of acquiring the frame images sequentially, the step of creating a differential image between the frame image acquired at this time and the frame image acquired before, and the step of outputting the detecting situation of the digital watermark by performing the digital watermark detection from the differential image, and repeating the aforementioned operations by acquiring a new frame image in case the digital watermark detecting operation is continued.
