Surface-treated fluorescent bodies and process for production of surface-treated fluorescent bodies |
abstract |
Provided are surface-treated fluorescent bodies which exhibit greatly improved moisture resistance without any deterioration in the fluorescence characteristics and which are highly dispersible. Also provided is a process for the production of the surface-treated fluorescent bodies. Surface-treated fluorescent bodies which each have, on the surface, a surface-treatment layer that contains both fluorine and at least one specific element selected from among Group 3-6 elements of the periodic table, wherein when the cross section of the surface-treatment layer is subjected to thicknesswise elemental analysis with a combination of electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray microanalyzer, the maximum peak of the content of the specific element appears nearer to the surface than the maximum peak of the content of fluorine. |
