abstract | Although capable of providing light stability, a light stabilizer (HALS) involves a problem such that deterioration in heat resistance and coloring resistance is caused thereby. It is, however, necessary to use a certain amount of an HALS for the purpose of having sufficient light stability, and there is therefore a need for an HALS that has excellent heat resistance and coloring resistance. Disclosed herein is an HALS which has excellent heat resistance and coloring resistance, while exhibiting good fixability to a resin. Specifically disclosed is a carboxylic acid composition represented by formula (1). (In the formula, the plurality of Rs may be the same or different and each independently represents an alkyl group or aryl group having 1-20 carbon atoms; and the plurality of ns may be the same or different and each represents an average that is a number of 1-3.) Also specifically disclosed is a carboxylic acid composition which is obtained by a reaction between a compound represented by formula (2) and an acid anhydride having 3-22 carbon atoms. |
